Oxford United head coach Matt Bloomfield told BBC Radio Oxford:
“The guys were excellent to a man – the starters and finishers. I’m so proud of them. They implemented the information we gave them to the tee.”
“We showed heart, courage and determination and no lack of quality because, let’s not forget, we had a goal disallowed that shouldn’t have been cancelled. I told the referee it was a mistake but at least we can discuss it after a win.”
“We also had a few chances in the second half and there could have been a few more goals on our record.
“The players have to take all the praise. They were absolutely first class. But that’s just the stepping stone. We haven’t done anything yet.”
“We need to make sure we come out of the transfer window to attack the latter part of the season.”
Bloomfield, according to Sky Sports:
“It’s pure elation. There are a lot of difficult moments as a manager and there are a lot of moments when you have to be resilient and keep fighting.
“It’s worth it when you see your team perform and can share a moment with the staff, the players and the fans. It reminds you why you’re doing it.”
“For us to achieve this level of performance, the boys have to accept every praise. I’m very lucky to be the head coach and the man at the helm and I love and enjoy the responsibility. I love being part of a group.”
“We didn’t want to come here and just sit back and wait to find out our fate. We had to try to force ourselves into the game and embraced the psychology of the game.
“When you experience moments like this against such good resistance, which you can share with special people, it means a lot.”
I never thought we would end up here. We as a fan community have had enough. We can cope with a defeat, but we are in a bind and in big, big trouble pic.twitter.com/Ty8v166RdJ

Here’s how fans reacted to the heated scenes following Oxford’s win over Leicester; and Marti Cifuentes responds to fans’ calls for dismissal…
@HamzaSZN: Embarrassing bunch of idiots, don’t bother putting up a fight on the field, will you?
@Roo238766046479: Brannagan is back in focus, I love this guy
@lane_henry: Former PL club with head loss, Oxford is only
@THLCFC: Where is this fight on the field?
@psb_group: Absolute state of Leicester City #PUSB
@OJSLCFC: Insane loss, the players are angry because Oxford showed them what their actual skill level is.
@_dc194: Most fights I’ve seen us in about 18 months.
@NBottrill: Showing arguments after the game is over and we’ve been bullied by Oxford for 90 minutes is completely embarrassing
@Nobby_11: Oh dear, I see they didn’t handle the defeat very well again
@__The_Ox__: Shorty says big yesssss #OUFC
@tomatosauce8888: Embarrassing that they don’t show this fight on the pitch.
