Former Premier and EFL player Frank Nouble, 34, was announced for two different jobs at two different clubs this week.
A switch to his dual career was announced while he mutually terminated his playing contract with National League club Gateshead. He now joins the first team coaching staff under Rob Elliot but remains based in the region.
He also signed as a player with National League North club Spennymoor Town until the end of the 2025/26 season, becoming the 25th club of his career.
All that matters now is that the Heedarmy continue to support the boys/club as they have done all season, but with Rob and the rest of the staff the future will be bright and Gateshead style!
I look forward to being part of this learning and sharing my experiences @GatesheadFC https://t.co/KJ582iLXEq— Frank Nouble…..NIZ (@FrankNouble) January 28, 2026
GATESHEAD STATEMENT:
Frank Nouble will take on a coaching role in the club’s first team following the mutual termination of his playing contract.
The striker ends his time at Gateshead as a player, having made 35 appearances and scored three goals since joining the club in March 2025, and will now take up a role as part of Rob Elliot’s coaching staff at Gateshead International Stadium while he continues his playing career elsewhere.
Everyone at Gateshead FC would like to thank Frank for his efforts during his time at the club as a player and look forward to continuing to work with him in his new coaching role on Tyneside.

SPENNYMOOR STATEMENT:
Graeme Lee has significantly strengthened his attacking options by signing experienced striker Frank Nouble on a contract until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old frontman was a free agent after negotiating his release from Gateshead and Moors boss Lee wasted no time in agreeing a deal to bring him to The Brewery Field.
Nouble played at Chelsea in his youth before turning professional at West Ham United in 2009, where he spent three years.
A series of loan spells followed with the likes of West Brom, Swindon Town, Charlton Athletic and Gillingham as Nouble developed his senior experience before making a permanent move to Wolves in 2012.
The powerful striker also wore the colors of Ipswich Town and Coventry City before experiencing life abroad in the Chinese League.
Nouble returned to England to gain further EFL experience with Gillingham, Southend United, Newport County, Colchester United and Plymouth Argyle.
He most recently spent two seasons at Yeovil Town, where he scored 11 goals and helped the Glovers win the National League South title in 2023/24.
Nouble, a former England youth international, signed with Gateshead last March and has scored three times for the National League club this season.
“Frank is very experienced and will add a new dimension to our offense,” Chief Lee said.
“He has so much expertise at his level and beyond, so we are delighted to be able to add a player of his caliber to our squad.
“We have been keen to strengthen across the board and Frank’s arrival certainly gives us another option in attack, so we look forward to working with him.”
Nouble has been assigned number 22 and will be in contention for his Moors debut in Saturday’s game at Buxton, subject to FA and National League clearance.
