The SGP.32-based eSIM infrastructure addresses scaling challenges in global IoT deployments
IoT connectivity provider 1oT is partnering with Comodule, a leading provider of IoT solutions for light electric vehicles, for the integration 1oTs IoT eSIM technology integrate into their production processes. This allows Comodule to provide seamless global connectivity for its devices without vendor lock-in.
Comodule is integrated 1oTs IoT eUICC And 1oT eSIM core1oT’s proprietary end-to-end eSIM infrastructure designed specifically for IoT devices and managed via 1oT’s terminal connectivity management platform. As the first telecom independent provider with its own eSIM infrastructure, 1oT’s technology enables wireless switching between telecom profiles and optimizes connectivity based on price, performance and local network conditions – all from a single dashboard.
This meets a strategic need for Comodule’s expanding operations. As deployments scale across regions – each with different network realities – Comodule needs the flexibility to change operators market by market without logistical complexity.
“At Comodule, we work with micromobility companies of varying sizes, business models and product requirements. Including 1oT eSIM as an additional option in our connectivity portfolio gives our customers more freedom to adapt to changing market dynamics and regional requirements. In some specific deployments, eSIM technology can provide clear operational benefits and enable smoother operations.” – Teet Praks, CEO of Comodule.
1oTs eSIM management platform will improve operational efficiency and reduce management burden on Comodule’s SIM inventory, allowing the company to focus on customer growth and support.
“Our SGP.32 implementation of eSIM Core represents our commitment to providing manufacturers with true infrastructure independence, not just connectivity services. This production-level integration demonstrates the market dynamics behind this vision. We are excited to partner with Comodule and the benefits it will unlock for them.” – Märt Kroodo, CEO and co-founder of 1oT.
1oT eSIM Core uses the SGP.32 standard, a breakthrough in IoT connectivity infrastructure. The IoT market is experiencing unprecedented growth, with global connections expected to grow from 20 billion IoT devices in 2024 to 40 billion in 2034. However, previous generations of eSIM solutions presented significant obstacles for IoT device manufacturers that required flexible, scalable connectivity.
Released in 2024, the SGP.32 specification completely eliminates vendor lock-in and allows any IoT device to communicate with any telecommunications infrastructure without pre-configured integrations. By building 1oT eSIM Core on this new standard, 1oT Comodule offers multi-operator flexibility that was not possible before.
