Key insights (AI-powered):
The general availability of HaLowLink 2 signals that Wi-Fi HaLow is evolving from chipset sampling to a deployable infrastructure for real-world IoT networks. By offering a pre-built router/AP/extender, Morse Micro reduces integration friction and enables OEMs and integrators to validate sub-GHz Wi-Fi at scale without custom gateway designs. The OpenWrt-based stack also invites ecosystem innovation, enabling tailored firmware and narrower vertical solutions. This move aligns Wi-Fi HaLow more directly with proprietary LPWAN and sub-GHz mesh options, reinforcing the trend toward IP-native, long-range IoT connectivity.
Morse Micro announces general availability of HaLowLink 2 at CES 2026
Morse Micro, the world’s leading provider of Wi-Fi HaLow semiconductorstoday announced the general availability of the HaLowLink 2its next-generation long-range missile Wi-Fi HaLow platformnow worldwide shipping.
The HaLowLink 2 is a Wi-Fi Certified, All-in-one Wi-Fi HaLow routerAccess point and extender designed to help developers, system integrators and enterprises quickly deploy secure, long-range, low-power wireless networks for Internet of Things (IoT) and IoT 2.0 applications.
Built on Morse Micro’s latest and most powerful MM8108 Wi-Fi HaLow chipset, HaLowLink 2 delivers significantly extended radio range, improved performance and simplified deployment in supported regions including the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Europe and Japan.
Designed to unleash the full potential of Wi-Fi HaLow
HaLowLink 2 allows users to quickly create networks optimized for Wi-Fi HaLow devices operating in the sub-1 GHz band, making it ideal for sprawling environments such as smart cities, industrial sites, agriculture, logistics and large commercial sites.
When paired with a second HaLowLink 2, the device can also extend Wi-Fi far beyond its traditional range, enabling robust backhaul connectivity for non-HaLow devices via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB.
“With HaLowLink 2 now generally available worldwide, we are making it easier than ever for customers to deploy long-range, low-power Wi-Fi networks at scale.” said Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Micro.
“This product bridges the gap between the simplicity of Wi-Fi and the coverage traditionally associated with proprietary wireless technologies.”
Designed for developers, businesses and industry
The HaLowLink 2 features Morse Micro’s MM8108 chip, which delivers 43 Mbps throughput with extended range thanks to the 256QAM modulation rate and 26 dBm internal PA on the MM8108. It is based on the Mediatek MT7621 CPU alongside OpenWrt 23.05 and offers a flexible processing and software base with an intuitive web interface, SSH/CLI access, configuration wizards and optimized over-the-air software updates. Its compact industrial design supports global operations with included region-specific antennas and power supplies.
Key features include:
- Sub-GHz Wi-Fi HaLow (Morse Micro IEEE 802.11ah MM8108)
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 4 (MediaTek IEEE 802.11n MT7603E)
- Two Gigabit Ethernet ports and USB-C power/data interface
- Mediatek CPU (MT7621)
- Long-distance transmission with optimized energy efficiency for IoT devices
